So how do some of this work that you did, how do you think that's going to translate to projects that you mentioned, like the Fleet Block or the Field of Dreams? Like, how does that, like, connect us from the national down to our community neighborhoods?
23:22
Absolutely.
23:22
So the way it's affecting us here in Utah is that our governor, Governor Spencer Cox, he has a 35,000 homes initiative because he recognizes that there is a shortage of homes.
23:37
And so that is one of his personal goals is to make sure that we build or maintain enough homes to provide bridge that gap, essentially.
23:48
And so we're very lucky that we have been, because of this legislative work that we have done, because we've been working with Steve Waldrop, who is the housing czar in the Utah State Legislature, we are seen as a partner instead of a critic.
24:05
And when you're a partner, you can have constructive feedback and right and you can be heard and so creating that partnership of trust of like we're not here to like convince anyone of anything we're just here to build some homes we're here to fix your home right no one can be mad about that and also like the self-reliance that it teaches is so critical um we don't think about how home ownership is a privileged set of knowledge.
24:35
If you were raised with parents who had home ownership, you saw the kind of things dad used on Saturdays to take care of his yard, what tools he needed to fix the fence or fix this, right? You saw what mom needed to use inside the home to take care of different things.
