Now, but as you hear, heard this program, Chelsea, how does carrying blood on ambulances impact the blood collection and the blood supply? Does that, does that hurt?

Chelsey SmithGUEST
hurt? You know, so programs like this are, are of course bringing to light the importance of maintaining a strong blood supply.

Chelsey SmithGUEST
Um, but I think the encouraging part here is that these programs don't necessarily require a dramatic increase in our blood supply overall.

Chelsey SmithGUEST
Um, typically there's one or two units being carried on these, on these rigs, on air ambulances or ground.

Chelsey SmithGUEST
And so, well, that's also why we have these partnerships of course with, you know, The University of Kansas Health system to help mitigate the blood usage that's going out into these programs, making sure, as Dr. Allen mentioned before, that none of it is going to waste.

Chelsey SmithGUEST
Um, again, it's not necessarily increasing, uh, the need for blood right now in our community, but we know that it will because as, as we, um, kind of shared in our press conference a few weeks ago, this is the first of many programs that we expect to launch across the Kansas City Metro in Kansas and Missouri both.

Chelsey SmithGUEST
And I mean, we're hoping that this is gonna increase the need for blood because this only is, is going to increase patient care and, and, um, better their outcomes.

Steve StitesHOST
How does providing ambulances with universal blood change your approach to blood collections?
