What is it about a- arranged marriage? Like, are there things that are, you know, gotten out of the way that actually leads to a successful marriage?

marriage?Um, so there's a concept in Buddhism, and I think it's common actually to many spiritual and philosophic traditions, the idea that expectation is the root of all suffering.

[laughs] I suspect arranged marriages because it is a cultural institution.

People come into that not expecting that it's gonna be like roses and, you know- Okay ... cupcakes all the time.

Yeah.

They come into it knowing, okay, we have the support of our families, we've been vetted, we're the same religion, we share these important values in life, then we will work on it.
