How did you make the journey from Canada to now being the starting running back of the Bengals in your mind's

eye? You want me to tell this whole story? Okay.

So I grew up in Canada, spent 16 years up there.

Loved it.

whatever we moved in with a host family.

Um, when we transferred to a prep school, our junior year of high school spent two years there, got recruited.

Um, I went to Western Michigan cause I'm going to be a pilot.

What did that urgency feel like in the locker room?

Chase, what's your thing on Saturday? You could see that could give you some pause.

Yeah, I'll cheat a little bit because you guys have expressed the concerns that I would have for this season.

But I do think one thing I'm looking forward to seeing is that quarterback two competition between Tavy and St. Clair and Luke Fahey.

Fahey was the fourth quickest freshman to shed his black stripe this year, behind only Brock Boyd, Chris Henry Jr., and Jay Timmons.

And when that happened, it was Ryan Day who told us it wasn't the social media accounts that posted the video.

And Ryan Day seemed very excited and pleased with how Fahey has performed during preseason camp and going back to the spring.

And it's like, okay well tavian st clair is a five-star guy he has the nfl body it seems like he would be the natural successor to julian saiyan who's coming off the heisman finalist season and could lead ohio state to success again this year um but tavian only got two passing attempts last season So he doesn't really have any proven production at this level.

What gets you fired up for the start of a college football season?

How do you approach these other visits and how do you communicate with Ohio State about them? And what's been the message from coach Elflein?

Uh, I communicate with Ohio State.

I just let them know that, you know, uh, I'm always locked in.

You know, I'm just still enjoying the process of just being a recruit.

You know, this, this is only happening one time, so, you know, I'm just taking it and just enjoying it.

And so, uh, the other schools, I tell them like, "Yeah, it's gonna be really hard trying to get me to flip because it's, it's Ohio State." You know, it's where I wanna be.

So, yeah.
