So I wasn't being sent up for anything.

I would just get these flyers, and then I would just beg my grandparents, like, "Will you go and s- sit outside, uh, Television Centre?" So my grandad would just come with, like, a foldy out fishing chair, [laughs] and we would literally just show up.

And there'd be hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of girls that looked just like me.

So we would just be queuing up, queuing up, queuing up, and eventually you'd be seen.

And if you got a Polaroid taken, that was, like, big news.

Big news.
