Has this had any impact on the amount of people applying for mortgages or have you seen any material impact of this target for 1.5 million homes not necessarily materialising?
6:19
So I think... aspiration and people wanting a home of their own, irrelevant of what's happening, will always be there, won't it? So if I want to be able to, you know, put my own pictures up, paint my own walls, come in at night and feel like I'm safe, I'm in my own sanctuary, that desire-based kind of appetite for moving doesn't go away.
6:39
The key thing is how do we get more affordable supply into the market? And that's the 1.5 million target.
6:44
And I think she's, you know, we heard in the clip there, we're saying that it was always a challenging target.
6:50
I'd reframe that.
6:51
Let's be ambitious.
6:52
So the government set out an ambitious target about 1.5 million homes.

Charlotte, if energy prices remain elevated, does that make it harder for the Bank of England to cut interest rates, do you think? And does this feed into Skipton's thinking?

Do you think that seeing that film somehow affected your path?
4:44
I don't think so.
4:45
I think it was generational.
4:47
My mum's a teacher, her two sisters, their mum, her sister, and I didn't wanna be a teacher until I did some mentoring.
4:54
And I had this real sinking realization of, "Oh, I like this, and I'm good at this." The right film at the right time, it's magic, but there's an alchemy to being a teacher that is intoxicating, I guess.
5:04
I think I slightly resent the word calling, but it's the ability to be in a room of 30 young people, navigating and spinning all these different plates, bringing people in at the right time, asking the right questions, supporting that element that needs that support.

[laughs]
8:53
... it's the requirement.
