Nice.

Um, but some of that early work, we kind of took two approaches.
6:55
One, which I think was picked up by SPARK more than the other, was using the fitness gram to assess academic performance or, or its relationship with academic performance.

And what we found was that the, uh, the PACER test, the cardiorespiratory fitness test, and BMI, body mass index, uh, were the two measures that related to math and reading achievement, where as you'd expect, greater cardiorespiratory fitness was related to greater achievement and greater BMI was related to worse achievement.
7:24
We found that in that age group of third, third through fifth graders, that muscle strength and muscle flexibility were unrelated.
7:31
And so that really did shape the rest of my career as it relates to children, right? In the sense that today, I mean, you know, even this year, we've published papers on physical activity and body mass index or other measures of body composition.
7:44
Uh, we've gotten a little more sophisticated than just BMI now.
