'Cause we're pretty far into the season for you still not to have a full senior roster.

Yeah, I mean, I can kinda take this.

I, we've talked to David Lee a few times.

So if you know David Lee, he was the sporting director for New York City FC.

Everybody was like, "Oh, what a coup that Sporting has lured him away from this good club to come here," uh, signed a seven-year contract.

But, uh, essentially, I think just a record number of deals have fallen through.

Like, there was all kinds of rumors.

Right at the beginning of the date, I could tell something was wrong with her, so I asked what happened, and she was like, "You called me an Uber, but it wasn't an Uber Black."

I just thought like, "Huh, I've never actually taken an Uber Black."

So my thought is, episode 12 and 13 overall, a little bit of a, a lighter weight episode than we've previously seen.

Does he play duckpin bowling? [laughs]

We were

... uh, but I, I was really excited, thought it was gonna be, uh, more of a banger.

I had higher expectations for that, but there was a lot going on.

I loved the hospital scene.

I loved the vulnerability they were both showing, because all of a sudden, Emily is not just...

Well, I'll get more into it, but she goes from, you know, loses a little bit of her rough exterior.

We see kind of why she has that.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm

... beyond selling the house, 'cause we're already locked in.

We got this path dependence thing where we're, [laughs] we're in this house, we're in this neighborhood 'cause we were indexed on a, on a different salary before.

So we're kinda, like, locked into a different standard, I guess.

I guess that's... k- k- gets to the heart of what we're trying to accomplish here is, like, if we sell the house, downgrade, Karen seems to think this is gonna magically solve all our problems.

I think we're gonna be back in the same boat, 'cause we haven't actually identified the root of the problem.

Selling the house would just be a bigger Band-Aid than we've done to date.

Now, let's check their follow-ups where the real progress begins.

I mean, what were you guys doing, and what happened?

Sure.

So, you know, it, it...

Like, like I said, it's been 33 years, but it's, it's one of those things that you just kind of don't forget.

So I'll, I'll be as detailed as I can, as I can remember.

So I was, uh, I was, uh, at Fort Lewis, and I was in the First Special Forces group there, and we were doing, uh, what we called force on force.

So that's where we'd have SF team or Special Forces teams, um, assault whatever targets.

And I wanted to ask you about that.

What year? What month?

The year is 1998, and it's summer.

This particular trip was with my aunt and uncle, my sister, and four cousins.

At the time, my sister was 11, two of my cousins were 13, me and another cousin were 14, and my oldest cousin was 17.

So the plan for this trip is my aunt and uncle are taking all six kids to Cedar Point.

The first day, they take us to the park.

They are not ride people, so they're like, "Hey, you guys go off."We're gonna do the shows, we're gonna eat some food.

Okay, wonderful.

Gwen's younger brother, Chad, was aware of the troubles in his sister's marriage almost from the get-go.

I remember very clearly, like, right after they got married, it wasn't too much longer that she had found out that Matt was cheating on her.

And I remember she called my mom, like, frantic, and I remember all this, and my mom flew down to Florida and, you know, was there to console my sister.

And from there, they pretty much split.

Not permanently.

They were living separately, but trying to work things out.

And I had a lot of conversations with my sister.

Gwen's brother Chad thinks that Matt holds the answers he's looking for.

Karen's son, Chad.

Sunday evenings were usually our night alone.

Before the start of a work week we'd go out and have some chips and salsa, maybe a couple margaritas and talk about the last week, the upcoming week and spend a couple hours together most Sunday evenings.

I can't even imagine the feeling when the police are looking at everyone around you, your family members, Mike's family members.

Yeah.

Um, but, you know, you got to start somewhere, you know, and eliminate and narrow it down to who, who really committed such a horrible act.
