Now, how can nonprofits practically use data hygiene and segmentation to move from generic thank you emails to hyperperl- personalized cultivation journeys that actually make donors feel seen?

Chad EngelgauGUEST
seen? That's a great question and, and, you know, thing that nonprofits have gotta focus on, Kathleen.

Chad EngelgauGUEST
You know, personalization absolutely starts with knowing who the donor actually is, and so that takes a lot of data.

Chad EngelgauGUEST
Um, and, uh, before you worry about hyper-personalization or personalization overall, really cleaning your data and linking that record, which a lot of nonprofits really don't do, so that you understand who a person is across name change, location, times, and channels is really gonna be critical.

Chad EngelgauGUEST
So connecting the specific donor, you know, history, their interests, the channel engagement, as I talked about earlier, their creative preferences, and additional insights that you can link to that, again, whether you're getting data from co-ops, whether you're getting the demographic data from them, whether you're getting incremental information, you know, from engagements from your telephone engagements with them, right? Or surveys that you're doing.

Chad EngelgauGUEST
Pulling all that information together to build a profile so that you better understand your donor and their preference is just really important.

Chad EngelgauGUEST
Um, and then really understanding their g- giving cadence because understanding somebody who, uh, the critical information, like who are the person who will only give one time a year? And then, you know, there's our other people who are your fanatics, those people who will respond no matter what, you know? And that's a really interesting profile who you can have on your donor database that you can go to no matter what.

So how can organizations map out a cultivation strategy that organically transitions a dedicated individual donor into an advocate for corporate partnerships or workplace giving initiatives?
