God.
22:14
I said, oh no, what have I done? And I thought, I've got to go through with this now.
22:18
And I never ever told anyone what I was going to do because no one ever knew about Hugh being ill because it was COVID and it was a lockdown.
22:25
So we spent six months on our own.
22:27
We literally, he started chemo on the second day, the first day of the second lockdown.
22:30
So we hid away from everyone and we never told anyone he was ill at the time.
22:34
and it was only when he came out in April and he rang the bell that I felt comfortable about telling people that it was ill, because I knew that he was on the track, or I thought he was on the right track.

20 MINS LATER

42:52
With Hughes Law then, for the people that are listening, what is the law and how has it changed and what has been the impact since?
20:10
Tell me about your charity.
20:13
Well, when people go through trage- tragedy, you sink or swim.
20:18
You can decide that you're gonna fight back and give back to those people that suffer the same as you, or you can decide that you wanna float away.
20:27
Neither was gonna bring Hugh home, and so we decided, our words at the time, be more like Hugh.
20:34
He fought everything with positivity and kindness and courage.
20:40
And so my wife and I decided to give ourselves a purpose, to give back to those parents that we witnessed and who are still going through that journey.
20:49
And I said after I buried Hugh, and I carried his coffin through the church, I said, "No parent should do this." And un- and sadly, they still will do this.
25:35
Yeah
