Tell us a little bit about it.

Well, thank you for inviting me to today.

Um, yeah, so the research is called Vacant to Viable: Do the Building Regulations Create Barriers to Reusing Existing Buildings? So we looked particularly at over-the-shop and town center properties, and it's for u- reusing them as homes in particular.

Um, this research is 18 months in already.

Um, it has, um, uh, the method of the research, so we read a lot of acts, statutory instruments, citations, so all the documents that are within the guidance documents, and guidance documents, o-o-other guidance published by the state and by others, which, the purpose of which is to be used, um, for reusing existing buildings.

We did a call-out for surveys, for case studies, um, to the professional bodies, and we then conducted interviews with people who submitted case studies.

Um, we are, uh, working on the research with the Irish Green Building Council.

Did it give you any understanding as to why places were vacant?
