Cathy tried to explain to a crowd of around 80 people the 10 referendum questions that Albertans will receive on October 19th, but it didn't go well.
1:08
Now, some important information to share before we get onto the next ones, 'cause the next ones are about healthcare and education and social programming and funding.
1:16
A lot of people don't always know how these programs work.
1:20
The cost of temporary foreign worker healthcare in Alberta, just from 2021 to 2024, your tax dollars, 1.12 billion in three years for temporary foreign workers.
1:36
[crowd murmurs] Hmm?
1:41
That was a little hard to make out, but a woman said, "That's because there aren't enough workers."
1:47
I don't know.
1:48
We have a, we had an unemployment rate of 24% among our youth for a while, but that doesn't change the fact of what this is.
36:42
So when you're getting out there, what are some of the things other than communication that people are saying at Sherwood Park? What are they looking for?
36:51
They are looking for, as I say, someone to be a strong voice downtown in Edmonton.
36:57
They're looking for someone who cares about the community and wants to make the community better.
37:05
Sherwood Park is known as an affluent community, but we also, we've got our problems here and our problems are getting bigger.
37:12
And people are reaching out to me mostly on email about that or through my website saying, well, what are you going to do about the drug issues that are going up? What are you going to do about the domestic violence issues that are going up? What are you going to do about just crime in general? that's going up.
37:28
And well, the fact of the matter is, what am I going to do about it? If I if I'm in, I will sit down with the people whose obligation and responsibility is to is to work on that and prevent it and get in there and make the arrests, do whatever needs to happen and tidy that up.
37:45
So that's what I'm hearing is there's a lot of worry about that.

56:30
Nobody's going to be able to change you.
5:32
Maybe you can walk us through this idea, how it came about, and what you're hoping to accomplish.
5:37
Sure.
5:38
So it started, um, a handful of months ago, just in conversation.
5:42
There was three of us.
5:42
There was myself, Angela, and then, and then Pet, who all sat down, and, and it was actually Pet came to us with this idea that a lot of people have got questions around the whole, the, the process of becoming our own country, and what does it look like after, and what happens after this, and what happens before that.
5:59
And, and then as Angela and I were speaking, traveling, everybody knows, or I think they know anyways, we're traveling the province, speaking to large groups and small, the same questions kept coming up.Well, what about this? What about that? And then Pet found this article that, that Colonel Redman, Lieutenant Colonel Redman wrote, and, uh, o- on...
6:19
And, and it outlines these six pillars on building a, a strong country, a resilient country, one that can, can withstand just about anything that comes from it.

They can't knock one off.
