So let's get straight into it, uh, with episode 61 of The Middle of the Pack Podcast with Catherine Harris, where I've asked her how she got into running.
0:52
So I always ran cross country when I was in secondary school, but very informally.
0:58
We never trained for it.
1:00
We just kind of got turfed onto a bus and, and driven out to the East Leinster competitions.
1:04
And I, I, I was always okay at running and really never did any training.
1:11
I loved the bleep test.
1:13
I loved when it was the bleep test day, which really angered my friends because they dreaded it all year.

... ahead of my time or should I go back and then push on?" You know, what's the, the right thing to do?
8:55
Do you have a problem with public drinking there, Catherine?
8:59
Hi, Andrea.
9:00
Yes, unfortunately we do.
9:02
We'd be much more akin with TUME.
9:05
We have all the same issues.
9:06
I mean, you only have to come down and look at the amount of bottles and cans that we pick up off the street on a weekly basis.
9:13
And there it is.
10:21
so you don't know until you're nearly on top of them, noon until you're past them, Catherine.
21:07
Yeah.
21:07
I had to check this the other day.
21:09
Um, a coach I work with, Ian, he had just started doing trail runs with our friend Sean, and Christmas Eve he invited me out.
21:18
We went, we went trail running along the Wicklow Way, and the weather was just comically bad.
21:25
We had a brilliant first about 10 kilometers.
21:28
We ran 10 kilometers in an hour and a half.
21:30
Beautiful scenes.

19 MINS LATER

40:21
What, what, what would you say to that person sitting at home?
10:01
Um, have you witnessed similar scenes to Harriet, Catherine?
10:05
Absolutely.
10:06
So we're just down the road from Harriet, and, and literally last, uh, Sunday evening, it was apocalyptic what we, what we witnessed.
10:13
I mean, uh, the whole seafront had been turned into a rubbish dump, to be quite honest.
10:18
And, um, you know, uh, just to mention about the bins, uh, as Harriet said, the council are great at putting additional bins in, and they put these large 1,100-liter wheelie bins in very close to the big belly bins.
10:31
But for some obscure reason, these were not being used, and instead, all the rubbish was being stuffed into the big belly bins.
10:40
The big belly bins were open.
13:19
Litter wardens, yeah
