I wonder if you could give listeners an overview of those two aspects of your identity as an artist and educator.
45:29
Yeah, it's a big project.
45:30
The Canopy Program was, I founded that in 2023 after co-running and co-directing and co-founding NYC Crit Club in 2017 for five to six years.
45:41
I founded the Canopy Program because the community was growing.
45:44
It was large in NYC Crit Club, but people wanted something longer.
45:48
They wanted a longer commitment, and they wanted a set group of people.
45:51
I built the curriculum to span a 10-month program with one core mentor.
49:51
And I wonder if you could just talk a little bit about that and then also what the application process is like for anyone that's listening and might want to apply.
80:25
Hmm.
80:25
So it is feedback first, but they also get to talk about ideas of success and failure and, you know, how to make sense of a life like this and how to negotiate language and how to talk about your art or how, how to resist talking about your art the way others want you to.
80:39
So the program isn't everything.
80:41
It can't be.
80:42
Um, but I'm really proud that we serve people from age 25 to 75 from all around the world.
80:48
I'm super proud of the fact that if, you know, people need financial aid or scholarships, we offer that.
80:54
I created a scholarship in my dad's honor, um, and also another scholarship for Lumin Wikola, who's a great artist who just passed away, um, unfortunately recently with, from brain cancer, and she had two beautiful girls, so we created a scholarship for artist parents.
