So what would your vision be of dentistry working well as a whole? And are there any countries that have this model?
3:21
Do you know, I'm so lucky because in, in the consultancy work that I do, I'm all over the world, so I have been looking at how dentistry works in lots of other countries, and I honestly don't believe that anyone's got it perfectly right, and, and I suppose that gives you a bit of a, um, [lips smack] uh, it, it, it gives you a bit of a, a mindset of like, "Well, hmm, let's try something new," because there are so many people trying different things all over the world.
3:48
Um, I'm, I'm noticing that generally speaking, and I, I hate to say it and it, it's just, it happens to be the way that I find it, um, dentistry is very much led by the way fees are paid.
4:00
Um, so in different countries we have different situations of, of how fees are paid.
4:05
And, um, you know, for example, in Germany, they have an insurance-based, um, structure where the, the, the state will insure a certain amount of types of, of dentistry, and so that's all the dentistry that gets done.
4:19
[chuckles] You know, there isn't anyone coming aside from that.
4:22
Um, so you asked what my ideal plan would be, what, what the future of dentistry is and, and what it would look like.
