How have you seen those challenges play out with this administration's immigration policies?

So for LGBTQI plus immigrants, especially transgender immigrants, these policies tend to compound one another.

Someone may come to the United States seeking safety from violence because of who they are, only to encounter detention, medical neglect, and the threat of being sent somewhere else, which is even more dangerous from the place that they're fleeing.

So it's truly a combined issue.

When in detention, you know, transgender people tend to face harassment, sexual violence, and placement in housing that puts them at risk.

This administration has a policy of placing people in detention with based on the gender they were assigned at birth versus the gender that they identify with.

And that in and of itself is creating a dangerous situation.
