2:04
What are the top bullet points for the action plan, how it forms sense?
2:09
The book is Forming Families, Forming Saints, and I think the idea is, first of all, looking at a family, right? And if you think about the church, what is the purpose of the church? The purpose of the church is essentially a universal institution, a universal family to generate and to form and to send out disciples of Jesus Christ.
2:26
And that's what the church calls the family is the domestic church.
2:30
And that's an ancient term, right? And it's the smallest cell that replicates the mission of the wider body, which is literally to generate disciples, to form them and to send them out.
2:40
So I think the first thing is how parents are generating children.
2:43
And this is a very literal thing.
2:45
Are they being generous with life? Are they open to life and bringing children into the world? There is a question of forming them once they're generated, and that's raising them in all kinds of human ways and everything like that, as well as raising them in the faith and helping them, giving them the best opportunities to receive the grace of faith and to grow in holiness.

13:21
What can parents do to prepare their children to receive that kind of vocation and respond to it?
31:30
I- if there is, like, maybe one place or a few, like, where would you suggest they begin?
31:36
Yeah.
31:37
Uh, I mean, it, you know, I hate to say the, you know, the State Department line, you know, it depends.
31:40
But it kind of does depend, but I would say a few kind of natural starting points.
31:44
The first thing is look at your screen usage, and I think that was actually, you were drawing from that in the last, in the last question, too.
31:50
Like, what is your screen usage? I think almost always there needs to be dramatically less screen usage.
31:55
Just in general, not even just, like, sinful things, but just in general.

38:19
It was, I'm sure it was intentional, but why did you choose that structure?
2:12
What would you say are some elements of the masculine genius, his gift package?
2:18
Yeah.
2:19
You know, so I was in seminary formation for a long time, and I talked to the guys often about, you know, a lot of them come to the seminary with a desire to be a good man, And that certainly is an important thing they should want to be and become good men.
2:36
But they also have to learn how to be good at being a man.
2:39
And so what does that, I think, look like? I think there's a lot of things.
2:43
But I would sort of group it under certain categories.
2:48
I can remember what I talked about with the guys.

22 MINS LATER

24:41
And what do you tell them about that? As young men, how to get connected, and maybe even as a priest now, you can just say practically, how do priests connect and maybe throw in a little mentoring in there

with your spirit.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
4:08
Glory to you, O Lord.
4:12
Jesus dismissed the crowds and went into the house.
4:15
his disciples approached him and said, Explain to us the parable of the weeds and the field.
4:21
He said in reply, He who sows good seed is the son of man.
