How did the music that you listened to growing up, whether it was like in the church or whether it was just like what was playing around you, how did that shape the sound that you have today and how is it continuing to shape it?
C

Yeah, I mean, I definitely again, because everything was so straight, like as far as even like what we could.

listen to I didn't really listen to music on my own obviously I'd hear stuff from friends in school I didn't really listen to things outside so I was like probably I want to say 5th grade but my dad was always like my dad's a music head so like he was finding like instead of me going and listening to like a hip hop album by you know little Romeo he was finding the Christian version and we were bumping it in the car so it was like it wasn't like yo it has to be like oh yeah but it was but it was like no we just are only going to do the christian version of these things so we'd be listening to like hardcore metal in the car but it'd be the christian version or we'd listen to punk it'd be the christian version or we'd listen to you know obviously gospel is the christian version um gospel music and hip-hop um so genre wise i was like very exposed to like every genre my dad is a band teacher um and can play like every woodwind and brass instrument and plays keys and had a choir that would like travel we lived in the caribbean the cayman islands and we were like i remember traveling with my dad as a kid to the choir was like performing in uh at disney world in orlando and stuff and so like my dad was just like very much musically gifted and inclined he'd get his he was like very much like the choir was rapping on stage like uh and then like and he'd have someone come out he would write raps and stuff and like be playing piano my first concert ever was Kirk Franklin um so there's like genres were always kind of like Everywhere.
