Has there been things stand out to you as red flags or green flags when you're reading through a student's application?

Carsten HamannGUEST
Yeah, I mean, not to get too nitty gritty, I guess, but, you know, before the token system, we'd get like 650 applications for two spots.

Carsten HamannGUEST
And, yeah, it's very hard to stand out when, you know, even if you say half of those people are absolutely excellent, that's still, you know, 150 plus applications.

Carsten HamannGUEST
Again, there's not like a cookie-cutter way that everyone reviews applications, but I get a lot of questions from applicants saying like, oh, is it okay if I have poor research, or is it okay if I don't have honors in every core rotation, or is it okay if I – You know, don't have a home institution, so maybe my letters aren't as good as I wish they were.
