Caroline NieldGUEST
I think that for me, I didn't really know much about autism or being autistic until In fact, the only thing that I did know about it was things like watching the film back in the day, The Rain Man, which was very much a very one side of looking at autism and obviously a very male view as well.

Caroline NieldGUEST
And I think that's very, very common in terms of women are not necessarily seen or weren't seen as fitting the autistic profile necessarily.

It was more all the diagnostic criteria all seemed to be more factored towards boys, young boys.

And so interesting enough, the reason that I... found out that I was autistic myself was through my son because when he was younger, even when he was very small, we always knew that there was things that were quite different about him in terms of the way his behaviour was and things like that.
