And you know, I get, um, I had like a spot of ill health, so I l- I was like catching up on like three or four months of submissions in one go, and I literally just filtered my email addresses to check if they had updated me on anything and realized that some people had sent me three queries in the space of four months for three different full-length books, which are either not written and they just try out pitches, or they're written using AI obviously, or they're written but not edited.

Uh, whatever it is, um, and- and it's really frustrating for genuine authors who go to the same inbox, you know? There's no way to filter these out.

S- and this is in that system that you get the sort of, this two-tier, um, type of publishing system where, uh, places, and I have absolutely nothing against these places, but places like the Novelry, the Curtis Brown course, the Faber course, all of these extremely expensive, um, places are what makes people's submissions stand out.

And so you do come across this two-tier publishing where without sp- without being privileged enough to take the time out to do these courses and to actually have the m- money to afford them, you, it's really hard to get your, your name out there, which is really frustrating.
