What was the premise behind honoring women veterans?

Well, I was watching a documentary on Netflix.

I was like, well, what does that mean, I feel invisible? Because a lot of times, In the military, servicemen look at women different than they look at men.

And if you really think about everything that women have done in the military, they don't get the credit that they do.
