That makes sense because I did get kind of confused when we first came on the video because I was like, wait a minute, have I just like crossed my wires seriously? Will you give us a little bit of a run through of your background and what you're up to now?

Sure.

So I am an early childhood educator.

I studied education and when I moved to New York City, I trained as an early childhood Montessori teacher.

And I was very fortunate to get this very beautiful creature, little dude, about 14 years ago.

And he was so just chill and beautiful.

And I really wanted to do some volunteer work in my community.

Would you have any advice to parents of young children as to how they manage that relationship with technology so as not to impact too much on the social skills?

seem to be the most challenging for young kids right now? I think if we're talking

about friendship, three sort of ideas stand out for me.

It's about like initiating conversations and starting play, handling disappointment within friendships and also solving friendship problems and conflicts.

So children often know something feels wrong, but they don't always have the words or the confidence to work through it.

And That's one reason why I created my children's book series, because these stories allow children to explore these situations before they're living them themselves.

And then the teachers and parents can simply build routines around these stories.

So children actually have to practice these skills.

How can parents help guide their kids into maybe making new friends in their new classroom? I

Was this discussed at South by Southwest? And what is your take on that kind of model?

Yeah, I really get the appeal.

And I think it's really exciting.

It's like a new frontier.

You know, many things in traditional education are just not working for a variety of reasons.

And we see that in the test scores in Australia, in America, something in traditional education isn't working.

And so how can we address that through technology? And I think the alpha schools offer a really interesting model of how schools are going to look in the future.

Do you think, and this is a hard question to ask and maybe to answer because I don't want it to come across as critical in any way, but is EdTech being used as a babysitter in some cases, in some classrooms? Yes.
