And I'm curious, how has that panned out so far?
10:13
Yeah, so basically what ends up transpiring here is that these mine operators have paid only a minute fraction of what was originally promised.
10:22
So these revenues of 32 to 50 million over a 10 year period, that's just not what we've seen borne out from this mine.
10:30
Essentially, I got records last year and this year for their pilot payments.
10:36
And it's something of about $4,300 that they paid from February to like April of this year.
10:43
And so, you know, the other part about this is that their IDA was redrafted in 2024.
10:50
And the biggest source of revenue for the city was basically removed.
11:19
Can you tell me what happened there?
6:41
It's, it's the current, uh, material infrastructural projects being pushed by, you know, the largest capitalist interests we have, Silicon Valley and, and the fossil fuel industries on rural communities across the country.
6:53
But yeah, just for a little bit more context on the Texas boom, we are facing something like 400 data centers coming in.
7:00
It's actually more than that because there's like 70 more that were projected to come in this year.
7:04
Um, and yeah.
7:06
So, uh, the number that I've been using and that our grid oper- operator, ERCOT, uses is that it's 250 homes for one megawatt.
7:15
Um, so one megawatt powers 250 homes.
7:18
And recently, ERCOT released a projection, projection that shows that because of the data center boom, energy consumption here is s- basically slated to quadruple by 2032, which is incredible.

But yeah.
27:18
Mm-hmm.
27:18
Um, the facility was announced in 2022, um, and what this meeting was about was they were weighing this tax abatement.
27:27
Um, Navarro County, this is a, uh, sort of indigent county.
27:31
Its...
27:31
The, the largest known city for the county is Corsicana, Texas.
27:36
Um, and so this is s- something like a $6 million tax abatement that they wanted in order to expand this facility, which they broke ground on in 2022, into what will be and is still on track to be the world's largest crypto mining facility.
27:54
So, they wanna expand it into a one-gigawatt-consuming facility.

Oh, oi, oi.
