Well, yeah, you mentioned his dates, 1904 to 1984.

Those are important dates, and you start to think about, um, maybe the prime years of a theologian's or a philosopher's life and where that falls.

So certainly he was an elder statesman of sorts, uh, when Vatican II happened, and he was an influential figure.

The d- the nature of his influence may be debated.

We can have a conversation about that, and scholars might debate that, but he has been called the Holy Ghost writer of Vatican II.
