yeah it i guess the way i describe it is it was really slow but consistent and linear which was a good place to be so i didn't i almost didn't realize what was happening as it was happening So the first winter, like talking about skiing in particular, I was going to do the Grand Traverse with my sister.

And like, for me as a Southern man, like I have American, the American South, but then there's this whole African diaspora that I have no, I have no culinary way to really digest.

into it outside of you know social media and technology now but where's the like how do you physically learn those kind of things outside of going to the restaurants and learning about the spices and I got it was a part time job but it was something more like to learn about how to use spices and how like the understanding of like how the food history has shaped what it is in a way.

So, I mean, the day started with a lot of solo time.

Like, the race started at 1:30, so we had some time to kill in the morning, and took some long breakfasts, and yeah, hanging out in our, our hotel rooms and just waiting for all the excitement to happen.

Um, and what really felt like the first, like, m- substantial moment that was a wake-up, we're in the Olympics, we're doing this, was an hour before the race, we walked out for our course preview.

And as soon as we came around the corner and were within view of the bleachers, this specific section of it that had taken up, like, an eighth of the whole stands completely erupted.

And we looked up, and there's, like, little bits of, like, pink hats and orange beards, and, like, red, white, and blue all over this section of the bleachers.
