So tell us a little bit, what was your entree, first into the world of watches, and then give us a little backstory of how you got into the business that you're in today.

Well, I initially started with gain- I actually gained an interest in leather and leather products when I was in the Peace Corps.

Uh, I lived in Costa Rica, and one of my small business clients that I would consult with was someone who made belts and wallets and things of those na- of that nature.

He was a great guy.

I spent time with him.

We would hang out and talk about types of leather and things along those lines, and I, I really gained an interest in that.

And then through traveling, I've traveled extensively, uh, 75 countries so far, and I found leather tan- tanneries in places like Brazil.

Tell us about your connection to Panerai and why that became the focus of Lusso Straps.

Can you expand upon that one?

Yeah.

So, I mean, how...

If I'm a brain in a vat, how, how, how would I prove that? How, how would I, how would I prove that if, like, my whole life experience is, you know, everything...

Like, let's say I'm a brain in a vat, right? And in some other dimension there's some little green alien guys that are, you know, controlling my whole life like a, like a video game, right? I'm just a simulation, right? There's, there's no way...

If the aliens or whatever is controlling my brain in this vat, how am I going to...

How am I gonna differentiate from that if they're the ones in control, right? It's almost like, like if, um, technically if the God of the Bible was true, we would kind of almost be that brain in the vat where...

Can you give us an overview before we dive into some specifics, Cal?

Yeah, I think a lot of Christians are lamenting what they see in society, but they don't really understand the underlying ethos that's pushing this.

You've got this wide variety of views, but collectively, you know, you've got the progressives and then you've got the conservatives, right? But what's at the root? What's at the foundation of these, you know, kind of main viewpoints? And, you know, when you think of culture itself, Daniel Dennett years ago said that, um, that culture was kind of like a way that communities try to answer the big quandaries of life, so to speak.

And so when you think that through, there's three big questions in life every thinking person will want to answer.

Where do we come from? What's the meaning of life? What happens when you die? And You know, that's kind of like the framework of how you understand all of life.

And if you go back 100, 200 years ago in Western society, even further than that, people are going to answer the same way.

You know, where do we come from? Well, God created everything, right? He's the creator.
