You could really- Like the bigness of how you had to have stepped into something- Mm-hmm ... not just as an actor, but then all the other things.
Caitlin ThompsonGUEST
Like, it's one thing to be an actor and be nervous and be like, "Oh my God, I wanna do a good job because, you know, this could, this could lead to ..." You know how we do.

And I'd like you to walk our, our listeners through how do you use Kambo? What does it feel like? How long does it take to kick in? Just kind of walk me through a journey.
Caitlin ThompsonGUEST
So I'll kind of preface a little bit maybe with, like, the historical origins so you understand the context of how it was used and then how it's used in modern global society.
Caitlin ThompsonGUEST
So traditionally speaking, this medicine comes from, um, the Amazon and indigenous groups that used it for at least hundreds of years.
Caitlin ThompsonGUEST
And they actually primarily used it for hunting magic, not necessarily shamanic application, which is a common misunderstanding.
Caitlin ThompsonGUEST
You know, there's a lot of, uh, assumptions that people make about how the indigenous use Kambo, and they used it really mostly for magic, according to them.

Do you worry about like, uh, um, over, wait, overfishing of the frogs? Overfrogging of the frogs? Or what's going on with that?

Is this just purely because they're different organizations? Why is one still higher than the other?

There's... required participation at a number of the top tournaments obviously the four grand slams but also what they call these masters 1000s tournaments cincinnati as you mentioned is one um there's another one in rome still gender indian wells which is coming up soon in the us is one in miami another anyway i could go on but these tours stops are mandatory for players but not in every case is actually in most cases they are not equal pay it's up to the tournament's discretion and most of what um, is sort of frustrating as a tennis person, you know, racket covers other racket sports as well, but tennis is really our main focus.
C
25:19Caitlin ThompsonGUEST
And what has been frustrating about it is just seeing how much innovation and, um, early adoption of a lot of ideas and structures and promotional um you know tactics that put tennis really out in front of everyone have now sort of stalled out because of how ossified our governing structure is and you've seen a lot of these newer leagues really gain ground which is not the worst thing in the world you know i think for all of us sports fans seeing a varied and interesting diverse body of sports to choose from and watch at all times where the level of competition is really high is like sort of the best possible outcome right it's an embarrassment of riches if we get that and one of the things that's sort of been frustrating as a tennis person is just the governing body is not being aligned we have seven and they aren't on the same page a lot of these basically it works as a loosely federated network of fiefdoms and so it's sort of up to the you know sort of how visionary how forward thinking and how smart are these different stops along the tour at promoting sort of weaponizing and best productizing what is you know arguably the best sport certainly if you're a woman to play um and and it really varies right i mean you go to indian wells where where we there's a billionaire owner who's uh not concerned at all with any tabs.
