And so they were unprepared, and we ended up having to go into some of the craziest moments of our lives trying to get reprints with our publishers, and I'm sure you went through that too.

It was absolutely insane the scale of new readers showing up to the stores.

Um, I think Heated Rivalry really created a point to bring people back to their roots of loving reading.

And since then we've seen that with Off-Campus.

Kaitlyn, yeah, tell me a little bit about sort of how romance has fostered this community.

It's been absolutely incredible to watch.

I can't tell you how many times I've gone to an event and I see people exchanging friendship bracelets.

What are you studying at Arkansas?

Uh, right now I have it as communications, which, you know, I guess that makes sense.

Um, and then I think I'm probably gonna double major and do a, right now they have a journalism PR sort of major.

And I think that sounds pretty interesting.

So I'd like to try that out.

so what do you do uh besides trying to figure out what you could do with your life by the time of your 18 years old what do you what do you do for you like so you like old school music like kansas and

yes yes it I actually have a radio in my room.

I listen to it pretty often, and I have a whole stack of CDs and cassettes and vinyls.

What does a romance buyer at Indigo actually do?

A lot.

[laughs] No, I, I love my job.

It is so fun.

Um, but I am in charge of a lot of different things.

I am in charge of the financials, and so I have a portfolio that I have to do business reviews on every single week and talk about what's, what's working and what's not working.

But the, the biggest part of my job is I'm a buyer.
