Now, you obviously have a history with music, but how did you find your footing as an artist?

You know, a lot of trial and error.

Number one, being inspired by people that you can relate to that are, you know, making music.

I know before I started, you know, playing the guitar, I was a producer and the person that inspired me to be a producer was indirectly Tupac because I was on YouTube one day, I was 16 and I was watching this Tupac video and the intro was an instrumental to his song, Scandalous.

And the instrumental was like remixed by somebody and the beat was so groovy and it had live instruments and stuff in it.

I said, wait, I really like this.

And there's nobody rapping over it.

What really drew you to to those genres, especially because there aren't in terms of like rock and roll, there definitely aren't, you know, many black faces in that one.
