Just movies that I haven't covered yet that you think would be good for the future.
162:33
All right.
162:33
Well, this one I know you have on the list because I actually requested it recently.
162:40
Okay.
162:40
And that's disturbing behavior, which is one of those like 90s teen dark, you know, dark thriller movies.
162:51
And it was like one of the, you know, I started getting into movies right when DVDs were starting.
163:00
So I didn't have very many VHSs like my VHSs were all like kids movies that were most of them were recorded off the TV.
164:03
okay yeah i love that movie
23:14
What do you have for your last up for The Crow?
23:17
I think for my other up, I do like... how they work with his powers progression.
23:27
And again, this is kind of like damning with faint praise or praising with faint damnation.
23:36
But I'm not big on the mystical guy, but I do like the kind of purgatory train station where he is kind of introduced and he's like, is between the living and the dead, and that's like the realm where the crows exist.
23:53
I like that as a concept and how he kind of keeps coming back into it.
23:58
And specifically the part that I like is how, you know, initially he was coming back for love, and then he sees the video of...
24:08
Shelley you know killing someone like even though she's under the influence of uh Rogue uh that it's funny that's you know that that's not how his name's spelled but that's how it's pronounced um but even though you know she's under his uh his control like his influence that still like so is the seeds of doubts of his love for Shelley and then that becomes that's not enough And so that kind of brings him back to the purgatory.
29:22
I mean, you tried gold star for trying.
RobHOST
1:36
Alright, so why don't we start off by you telling everybody and me, what is your background with Shawshank?
1:48
Well, I did let you know whenever you first recruited me for this season that Shawshank Redemption has been one of those, not bucket list, but why haven't I seen this movie before now? It's always been one of those where it's near the top of my list of films that I eventually want to get around to and watch, but You know, years, years just keep passing by and I never, you know, find the reason or the inspiration to actually sit down and, you know, find it and watch it so I'm, I was glad that that's, you know, doing a podcast.
2:30
to talk about it, finally gave me the excuse to sit down and fully watch this movie.
2:36
Before this, I mean, like, I was aware of this movie for the longest time, and I did actually watch, you know, about 20 to 30 minutes of the movie before Many years ago, I was just at a hospital visiting, and I don't remember if it was in the room or in the waiting room, but this was just playing on TV.
2:59
And so I did see from...
3:01
It was about the time with him getting into the...
3:14
the the library okay up up to the time with when he is like playing the record

adapted novels so start with your number five and work your way up
27:11
Like, when you put the radio on, like what are you looking for?
27:16
I mean, I, I just, y- you know, I pretty much do that for the most part, just let the song wash over me.
27:21
Like, I do listen, like, uh, you know...
27:25
I, I think it's been almost a couple years now, I've- I found this app called Music League, and it kind of gamifies music listening, where, you know, you can have...
27:36
You can create a league, and then it, each, you have rounds, and each round somebody submits...
27:42
You know, you create a theme for that round, and then everyone who joins that, that league, they submit a song that fits the theme.
27:51
And then you vote.

40 MINS LATER

[laughs]
49:00
Go.
49:02
Uh, sure.
49:02
I, I think, you know, the, the one that I'm kind of, uh...
49:06
Well, the, the one that, one that you haven't mentioned is Anthological, which is an anthology podcast about anthology movies.
49:13
And as right now we have, you know, I've, I've brought up Tales From the Crypt earlier.
49:18
We are, uh, right in the beginning of our Tales From the Crypt season and, uh, you know, each, uh, season we cover a different anthology movie, and we do it one segment at a time, and each segment is covered by different people.
49:32
So, you know, if you don't like the hosts, just come back next week, it'll be completely different people-
49:38
[laughs] Yep
