What is different about Bryce this year? You can put your finger on it.
8:40
Um, yeah, I mean, really, I think.
8:43
I've kind of picked up this year where I left off at the end of 24.
8:47
OK, yeah, I think 2025 It was a lot going on, kind of got derailed with injury.
8:55
You know, velo was dropping.
8:58
I couldn't land any off speed for strikes.
9:02
Confidence was down.
9:37
definitely helps you touched on a few things throughout all that first of all you mentioned putting weight on right now we've heard how much weight did you put on the off season i got up to about 207 208 started at about 190 so so how like how do you put the weight on like if you've got like a you know 16 17 18 year old kid he's like man i'm gonna put weight on um how did you how are you able to do that i drank a lot of whole milk Really?
14:06
Did that throw you off any at all this year, you think, having to deal with something that typically you haven't dealt with as a starting pitcher?
14:19
I mean, yeah, it's definitely been a nontraditional season.
14:27
you know, when it comes to that point.
14:29
But at the end of the day, you know, you got to go out and whenever they tell you to throw, that's when you got to throw.
14:37
And so whether that's on five days, six days, seven days, whatever it is, you know, you kind of plan your week and your preparation for whatever day it is that is your day.
14:49
And so I think that's, you know – back in college you know everybody was on a seven day in college and then you get to the minor leagues and most guys are on a six day pretty consistently and then you get to the big leagues and it's five and six days back and forth um and so yeah this this year it's been a lot of you know five six seven mainly six seven and a lot of seven days um but like i said it's uh it's just a little different routine it takes a little bit of you know different preparation to uh be ready on seven days compared to on five but um you know we're all we're all professionals and we we know how to structure our weeks um however we need to to be ready on on whatever day they tell us
16:48
Can you expand on that? What does that look like? What did that look like behind the scenes?
16:55
Yeah, I think, you know, coming into this season in spring training and just about every single meeting that we've had as a team up until about a month ago, it was every single time, you know, it comes up of, oh, you know, last year we did this.
1:28
What does mental pre-game prep look like for you in the season?
1:32
Um, in the season, you know, I, I'm, I'm one of those guys that's pretty relaxed pre-game.
1:37
Um, I'm not, I'm not anybody different, you know, on, on pitch day than I am on the other days.
1:42
But, um, I don't know.
1:45
I think hopefully I kinda figured something out at the end of the year in the, in the postseason.
1:50
I, I kinda changed my, my mental prep.
1:52
Um, went out in Toronto and kind of, uh, had a little bit of alone time out there, kinda sat on the field and, and, uh, did some, some visualization stuff.
2:23
Take us behind the scenes of that a little bit.
