I think it's because al-Sayed realizes that at least to his supporters, it doesn't matter.
37:57
And that could be, but the reality is he didn't deny it because it's probably true.
38:03
Frankly, he didn't deny his Egyptian citizenship.
38:06
He didn't deny the fact that he's funded by the same people that fund terrorist organizations.
38:11
He didn't deny it because it's probably true.
38:12
Where I come from, if somebody is accusing you of something and you allow it to continue, it's probably true.
39:14
eggs, and it worked.
39:17
There are some very Trumpian things about him.
37:03
How are voters reacting?
37:04
reacting?Uh, look, they're r- they're reacting positively to Mike Rogers and, and negatively to El-Sayed, as they should.
37:12
I mean, this is a guy that's denied, uh, or, or failed to deny Hamas three different times, three different occasions that he's had the opportunity to.
37:20
Can't say who's b- a bigger threat, Hamas or Israel, Iran or Israel.
37:26
Uh, this is a guy that is espousing socialist ideals, and is a self-avowed socialist and terrorist sympathizer.
37:33
I mean, it, uh, it's either common sense with Mike Rogers, or soc- socialism and terrorism with El-Sayed.
39:51
Mm.
39:51
It was higher in terms of real dollars under Barack Obama.
4:53
How big of a problem is that?
4:54
I, I think it's a, a big problem, and, and frankly, you're right, and that's just, that's natural for the, the party that's in power.
5:01
Typically you find that, that they don't necessarily, uh, they, they try to explain away the challenges that the people back home are facing because, well, they're the, they're the ones kind of holding, holding the responsibility.
5:13
And, and so, uh, especially when you have a, when you have a war overseas going on and, and protracting out, that creates challenges like increased gas prices, even though, uh, you know, it's more expensive under Biden, it was more ex- expensive under President Obama.
5:28
It's still a challenge, and so we have to get out of the frame, mind frame of explaining it away and saying, "All right, these are the solutions."
7:06
The rich have gotten richer, and everybody else has stayed about the same"?
7:10
It's a, a good question and, and frankly, you know, one of the challenges when you're trying to structurally reform an economy similar to what President Trump has, ha- is, is doing and is trying to do, is it, is it takes time and, and, uh, voters don't have the patience for that.
7:24
That's a historical trend and, and it's one of the challenges that we have to face.
34:52
Does it translate to action on the ground in the state?
34:55
A- absolutely.
34:56
I mean, look, in, in Michigan, we are spreading the message right now that, uh, America and the state of Michigan is in a battle.
35:04
We are in a battle of common sense versus socialism.
35:09
Common sense versus terrorist sympathizing.
35:12
That's the battle we're in here in Michigan, and Mike Rogers being on stage and speaking about that to a national audience i- is gonna resonate.
35:59
No.
35:59
Like, that, that's not something that should be done in American society or here in Michigan.
34:47
What's the connection between seeing some- this event and then actual a- does it translate to action on the ground in the state?
34:55
A- absolutely.
34:56
I mean, look, in, in Michigan, we are spreading the message right now that, uh, America and the state of Michigan is in a battle.
35:03
We are in a battle of common sense versus socialism, common sense versus terrorist sympathizing.
35:11
That's the battle we're in here in Michigan, and Mike Rogers being on stage and speaking about that to a national audience i- is gonna resonate.
35:58
No.
35:58
Like, that, that's not something that should be done in American society or here in Michigan.
36:04
And the, again, the reality is we are in a fight, a battle of ideas, communism, socialism, terrorist sympathizing versus common sense.
39:58
Bring us inside the fight for voter I.D. in Michigan.
40:02
Yeah, thanks for having me.
40:02
You know, first of all, over a year and a half ago, I launched an effort, along with several other members of the House Republican House Republican Caucus in Michigan to prevent voter non-citizens from voting in the election in Michigan.
40:16
We had instances of over 15 individuals that the Secretary of State has admitted to voting in our elections, and some of them have even been prosecuted now, finally.
40:29
And so we thought it was time to launch this effort.
40:32
We started it in the legislative process.
40:34
We weren't able to get the Democrats on board, so we couldn't amend our Constitution that way.

5 MINS LATER

45:41
How do you see that current trade war with Canada, and what are you hoping comes out of it?
42:59
Tell us what it would do and tell us why you introduced it.
43:04
So we introduced the App Store Accountability Act because we saw the same problem everybody else sees, and that's that we have kids around the state and around the country that are constantly on their phones, constantly on their iPads, And on apps that we really don't know exactly what type of content they're seeing, especially when it comes to the ads that are coming through.
43:37
And there's really very little protections when it comes to it.
43:43
And so the App Store Accountability

6 MINS LATER

49:28
So what's the future here? Are the Democratic versions Republican going to come together or are you just pushing on your side?
49:37
Actually, we have Democrats co-sponsors on it.
49:42
I don't remember which ones actually co-sponsored it with me because I started that process a while ago.
49:49
Protecting kids in this area is a bipartisan effort, especially, again, the way that we drafted it.
1:12
Tell us what it would do and tell us why you introduced it.
1:17
So we introduced the App Store Accountability Act because we saw the same problem everybody else sees, and that's that we have kids around the state and around the country that are constantly on their phones, constantly on their iPads, And on apps that we really don't know exactly what type of content they're seeing, especially when it comes to the ads that are coming through.
1:49
And there's really very little protections when it comes to it.
1:55
And so the App Store Accountability Act creates a, essentially creates a scenario that allows parents more control over what their kids are downloading and signing up for as far as apps on their iPad.
2:16
So basically what it does is if a child wants to download an app from the app store, the parent has to approve of that app before the download is actually completed.

5 MINS LATER

7:39
So What's the future here? Are the Democratic versions Republican going to come together or are you just pushing on your side?
7:49
Actually, we have Democrats co-sponsors on it.
7:54
I don't remember which ones actually co-sponsored it with me because I started that process a while ago.
