Where are we at, especially when it comes to our youth and sports betting? And popular than ever, I understand, and I know this, but where's it going and what does the future look like for the youth?

Well, it's going in a very damaging way, in a very harmful way.

And with the about turn that the sports leagues took, in the United States in 2018 and in Canada in 2021, they are now becoming merchants of addiction.

They are now partially responsible for the harms being created.

Since legalization in Canada in 2021, we've seen the number of Canadians Addicted or experiencing problem mental health issues with sports betting and other forms of gambling increase six times in just five years.

And a significant number of children and youth are affected.

The Center for Mental Health and Addiction in Toronto published a survey in the last month indicating that in the last two years, there's been a 50% increase in the number of children and youth who are involved in online gambling.
