John CrowHOST
How do you keep that straight? What, what do you think is your methodology for deciding what you wanna keep?

Brian UptonGUEST
Um, I'm always open to trying new things when there's, uh, an attending that wants to show me something new.

Brian UptonGUEST
I think what I decide to keep versus just disregard if someone's showing me something is often if there's a logic or basis behind it, I tend to adopt it more readily versus the I-got-burned-once attitude, where it may have happened one time, and if they think that a certain intervention or doing something differently would have changed that, a lot of times it probably wouldn't have.

Brian UptonGUEST
But, um, when that's kind of the mentality, I tend to not hold onto it as much.

Brian UptonGUEST
Um, and I feel like when they're explaining why they do certain things, they can kind of-- they kind of know whether which, uh, which realm they fall into.

John CrowHOST
Uh, I am going to have you listen briefly to the things that you learned during intern year, and then I'm curious what your reaction will be to that.

Brian UptonGUEST
Um, I think the biggest things I learned from intern year is just how quickly you progress.
