10:51
We go with the
10:52
very last call I had last night at like 10 PM.
10:55
The guy says he's over in Pacific coast.
10:57
So it was like seven his time, 10 I'm in East coast.
11:00
I'm talking to him.
11:01
He said, Brian, I'm not working out.
11:02
I haven't worked out for weeks.

22:49
Is there a system you recommend or does it have to be personalized? Do you have any like low hanging fruit for busy dads that they can, you know, apply right away?
SanaHOST
6:56
completely less fat food more freshly cooked food or you know meals like something like farm to table or something like that is it about the willpower that you know gets into a loop or is it about completely something else and especially when you are in that 30 40 or 50 age range
7:15
Good, good, good.
7:16
Willpower motivation, right? Let's totally rely on those two knuckleheads.
7:21
And oh, yeah, let's throw in discipline as well.
7:23
It's like the odd, the third cousin that, yeah, we don't need to rely on those as the crux.
7:33
of what we need to do.
7:35
Yes, life is unpredictable.

12 MINS LATER

SanaHOST
19:44
What would you suggest how, what to start with?
GiftHOST
8:17
How do you help clients stay motivated without Relying solemnly on motivation.
8:23
Good old motivation, willpower, and discipline, right? Those are three knuckleheads you don't want to rely on.
8:30
I'm a big systems, habits, and behaviors type person, and I coach my clients.
8:35
Let's talk about a story here.
8:38
I'm thinking Drake.
8:40
Drake came to me 270 to 280 pounds.
8:45
His blood pressure was through the roof, so much so that his doctor was threatening him to take medicine because it was that high and alarming.

Can you share a memorable success story that reminds you why you love this

23:26
moderation,
23:27
balance, flexibility.
23:30
So I'll say it one more time.
23:31
Moderation, balance, and flexibility.
23:33
When we have those three words in this moderation, you can eat anything within moderation.
23:39
You can't eat a whole bag of chips, but you can have five or 10 that could work.
23:43
Now you can't have five or 10 and then have ice cream and candy and and all sorts of other high-calorie things, that's not going to work.

7 MINS LATER

OkoroHOST
30:57
Why do people overcomplicate healthy eating? especially due to the fact that there's internet right now.
FerdinandHOST
24:12
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
24:14
Right? Yeah, you've got a lot of things going on.
24:17
Unfortunately, the last guy I was on a podcast, he just kept asking me all these questions like, man, I'm going to be late to my next interview here.
24:26
And so I'm busy too.
24:28
After we're done, I've got another podcast interview.
24:31
And then I have clients and I have other work and I have four kids and da, da, da, da, da, right? It doesn't matter.
24:37
Everyone's busy, especially into their own relevant world, right? And I think...

9 MINS LATER

FerdinandHOST
34:08
Now, before you go further, what is stress eating? And after you describe stress eating, then I'll ask the follow-up question first.
AbrahamHOST
27:03
Now, what should men over 40 understand about things like blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and other health matters?
27:16
Yes.
27:17
This is the check engine light situation.
27:20
Think of that, right? You're driving your car and that light, that dreaded amber color light pops on in your car, right? Check engine, like, oh, man.
27:29
It immediately is just like, wow, this is going to take time, energy, probably going to cost some money.
27:34
At the very least, it's going to cost $30 to $70 just to run the test to see what the diagnostic is.
27:40
And then what's the after effect of that? It's going to be $100? 500 or they just, you're good.

6 MINS LATER

AbrahamHOST
33:21
What can ordinary men learn from the way elite athletes approach consistency and performance?
MosesHOST
9:29
What are some of the biggest mistake men makes when trying to lose fat after 40?
9:36
I, I mentioned it a little bit, but it is trying to do diets that have a name.
9:43
Keto, something like that, fasting.
9:47
Uh, let's just avoid a whole food group or let's just not eat for an indefinite amount of time.
9:54
Anything that I ever teach is sustainable lifestyle behavior changes.
9:59
When...
10:00
What I call it the two two two bias.
MosesHOST
13:03
Why are these numbers so important?
4:25
Nice.
4:25
So I travel a lot too.
4:27
So I, I have been at a, a stable body weight for decades.
4:33
So there's a way to do it, people.
4:35
Now, the-- going back to the principle of, of what we need to do to establish, okay, how do we, like, be successful while we travel, I call it the AIM principle.
4:45
The AIM principle, A-I-M.
4:47
Am, A, is am I moving in the right dir- dir-- am I moving in the direction to- toward my health goals or away from it? Am I moving toward or away from my health goals? Okay? That's the question.

24 MINS LATER

28:42
So once you go through the 72 hours, uh, in general, what does the next 100 days look like, or does a 100-day system look like?
24:35
Yeah.
24:35
It goes from this momentum to like the wind's in the sail to I am not moving on the ocean at all, and the, the waves are starting to get big and, and ugly out there, right? And the storm clouds coming in.
24:47
The, this- It goes back into building that trust and that, that relationship and, and taking the leadership position.
24:55
So I then have to make sure that I am more connected to the client and more...
25:03
I, I say it's a, a game of tennis.
25:05
So like say we were working together, you and I.
25:08
And in general, the, Uncle Marv's excited to get onto court again and start playing tennis again, right, and, and, and, and move and, and do the things.

5 MINS LATER

30:18
Okay.
21:20
But how long do you find?
21:22
I love this.
21:23
I'm so glad you brought it up.
21:25
If, uh, let's go to a really bad situation.
21:28
If you were to walk into the doctor tomorrow and you've been smoking two packs of cigarettes a day every day and he's like, "You have lung cancer.
21:36
You have a choice." I'm gonna keep smoking like a chimney, or I'm gonna cold turkey stop to start to improve that.
21:43
Because w- we know that if you stop, your body can start to heal itself.
25:58
I'm working during this wedding," and no, it's, that's not a flex.
9:10
Oh, no, you were not supposed to give that away.
9:13
That's for another podcast.
9:16
But so we understand that we don't need to get into the economics or finances and all this other type of stuff.
9:21
But we all understand basic concepts of spending and saving money and all that.
9:27
Food is just...
9:28
The currency of food is calories, protein, carbs, and fats.
9:33
Once you understand what is in the food that you're eating, how much of a calorie budget you're allowed to have in a day, and where to divvy it up between the protein, carbs, and the fats, you become... food calorie macro literate and you understand how to then control food, even just by looking at it and say tracking calories and macros whenever I do it with anyone is a transferable skill for long-term understanding of how to maintain your body weight.

9 MINS LATER

19:31
Right.
