Because when we did it 30 years ago, it was probably the on- like, the second or third time we'd been in a studio.

Um, so we didn't really know how to use the technology, and we didn't really know how to kind of realize the sound that we had in our heads.

All that we knew how to do was just kind of play in the studio like we played on stage.

And as a consequence, I sort of developed a kind of dysfunctional relationship with it.

I, I, and I saw this as an opportunity to mend my relationship with all of these songs in order to be able to go out and do a really big 30th anniversary tour-

Yeah, I think it's amazing that from a chance meeting outside the tube station, that you formed a band that within less than two years was releasing its debut album.

Yeah, and there must have been a real vitality to what we were doing.

I think we had a lot of blind faith, and that was really important.

Blind faith in the fact that we were going to eventually succeed to a degree.

We didn't think that it was going to be the story... that it's become today.

We didn't anticipate it lasting so long or being so big so quickly at the beginning.

But I think because the mainstream was Britpop, it was very British, it was very much about continuing a tradition of British songwriting.

So many people latched on and loved this song.
