So to begin with, to get our listeners to know you a little bit, uh, what would you say is your kind of trajectory to becoming a neurosurgeon? How did that career become your, your work?

Yeah, well, that, that's a simple story, but it's a personal story.

So I, um, I was actually in high school, finished high school, was signed up to go into marine biology.

I love scuba diving.

I love the outdoors and the water, and my mother called me.

I had lived in Florida with my grandparents at the time, and my mom called me and told me that my brother, Eric, who was twenty-one at the time, was a senior in college, had been in a horrible accident, and he had emergency brain surgery in the middle of the night.

So I, uh, had never been on a plane.
