Oh, isn't that the truth? Yeah.

And it's just, he, and he hunts that really thick teetery country.

And he, like he's 80 years old.

He went out and shot a fallow deer spiker.

And like, he's got, he's got so many hog deer heads, you know, dead ones as well as what he shot.

It's not funny.

And, but you know, he was as wrapped to shoot that spiker as he was anything else.

What were you seeing?

Well, let's first thank the Vegas Golden Knights and the Carolina Hurricanes because you could just see what these guys are putting themselves through.

I'll talk about the series.

It was unbelievable because of... everything that went on all the different storylines right so game one happens Vegas looks good game two halfway through we're talking amongst ourselves because on the NHL network we do pre-game and then we do post-game so we just kind of hash it out we're all taking kind of we're taking notes and we are discussing sort of points and remembering who said them so you don't want to step on anyone's toes but we're halfway through game two thinking Vegas is running away with and then all of a sudden the series gets flipped on its head.

And, you know, after four games, the series was tied 2-2.

The goals were like 16-15.

And Vegas was up 9-1 in goals in the second period.

So it's good to hear from another guy as well.

But it feels like, yeah, you kind of know early on whether it's going to be good or bad because it feels like it either catches right away or it takes forever and too long that, hey, the playoffs are suddenly there and they haven't found their role yet.

Fit matters, yeah.

And I got traded to Toronto.

I was with Tampa.

I got traded to Toronto.

I played one game, and I had a lot of shifts, had a lot of defensive responsibilities.

I called my dad after the game.

How valuable are veterans like that at this time of year?

What was the case about, a- and how was Buckley even, even in- involved?

Yeah, so, um, the, the case was about, uh, a federal law called the Federal Election Campaign Act, and this was a law that had been passed, um, uh, by Congress, actually on a cross-partisan basis, and, uh, signed into law by, um, President Ford.... and it was around concerns about how money, um- Congress did some investigations, and they felt that money was really influencing the policies that were getting on the agenda.

Um, and they were hearing from their constituents that, um, they, they were concerned about how money was really severing the connection between the people and the folks that were supposed to be serving their interests in DC.

And so Congress passed a set of comprehensive laws that were really meant to set some guardrails on that.

Um, now, like, if I could just take a step back and say, um-

'Cause it sounds like it was kind of a very innocent time, given where we are today.

Yeah, so I, uh, as you mentioned, it was James Buckley who was the brother of Bill Buckley.

He had run for the US Senate.

What was the case about and how was Buckley even involved?

Now, if I could just take a step back and say, The wisdom of those laws and whether they were good policy or not, I think, is a separate question from whether or not it was really the court's job to step in and say, actually, no, we're going to sort of take over and take the power away from the states and the American people to decide what laws we want in this area.

Talk to me about what was the case about and why is it such a landmark? You're saying this is the first time the federal government decided? Because it sounds like it was kind of a very innocent time given where we are today.

They looked very lifeless against the Devils the other night.

I don't know that it is the same old.

It's different.

It could be at home, too.

Maybe it's not necessarily the most energy we've seen.

And they do play a lot of home games.

I was just talking with EJ Raddick earlier on his show, and he told me they have so many home games.

And as Craig Brube is basically tasked with bringing a new identity to this team, what do you think are the kinds of things he can do to try to expedite that process and get these guys to play with a little more confidence, swag, or some intensity and play together?

They looked very lifeless against the Devils the other night.

I don't know, I don't know that it is, um, the same old...

It's, it's different.

It's-- It could be at home too.
