I mean Rett Syndrome was what she was eventually diagnosed with it's quite a debilitating disorder like it affects coordination and communication and it only affects about one in ten thousand girls it's it's a pretty rare disorder but um it uh yes hugely debilitating um she never got the opportunity she never got the chance to be able to walk or talk um as a result of her condition And they don't, you know, Rett Syndrome girls don't have a huge lifespan because of the debilitating disorder that it is.

But, yeah, it was something that we had to quickly adapt to.

I guess at the time she was still almost a baby to us.

Like, you know, she was still very young, like she was only – sort of 18 months old you know so like you know um we were i would you know the shock of what was about or what we were having to you know deal with later on we were it was sort of like drip fed almost you know in a way where we would we would only see the repercussions of her not being able to walk you know not being able to talk later on you know so like um whereas like as a baby that's that's what you deal with anyway you know but um But, yeah, I mean it was probably one of the – I found out actually on Christmas – sorry, it was Christmas Eve that we were first told that she had cerebral palsy and then within a month found out she had Rett syndrome and that was January of 2000.

Like what was happening the rest of your life? Where did the, I suppose, the inevitable happen with your daughter? Was that sort of part of a life-changing experience? Yeah,
