How would this course help a student that would want to go into this as their career in college? Are there certain character traits or skills that they could learn in this class that would help them in the future?
5:27
Absolutely.
5:28
I think there's three avenues that we really look at is not everybody's going to go do this kind of work for a living.
5:34
But at some point, everybody's going to probably have to hire a contractor or someone do the work for them.
5:40
And so hopefully they can understand that, like what work ethic is and values as a client and a customer to know that they're not going to get ripped off.
5:48
But at the same time, when you have somebody who's working for you that you know they really care about what they're building, that's a huge asset that goes a long ways to trying to get students to understand that as a builder.
5:59
So if you wanted to leave high school and go to a four year university, or you could pivot and you can go right into an apprenticeship program, and they're gonna show you everything that you need to know, but it's a different kind of learning environment where some of these programs are four and five years long before you come out of that.
6:44
So how is that connection between the classroom and actual construction industry important for your students?
