And so throughout literature review and personal experiences, we recognize just how overburdened the health care system is in general.

And when you look at some of the numbers, it varies by country, but musculoskeletal disorders are one of the primary reasons for years lived with disability and for pain and health care spending.

And so we were really interested in how can we improve the value of care and the type of care for patients with musculoskeletal disorders while also supporting our healthcare systems and teams and offloading providers to allow them the capacity to better manage other conditions, like Dallas mentioned, that maybe they're more interested in or more prepared to do so.

By investigating that, we wanted to look at how do outcomes for patients, including clinical outcomes, so things like pain and disability and health-related quality of life, and also the societal side of things, so healthcare utilization like clinical imaging or prescription medications and the cost to the patients, how do those differ when a patient is first evaluated by a physical therapist in the first contact role versus a usual care provider, which, you know, physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant.
