Tell me about some of the reporting of your gold medal win because you were kind of surprised, sometimes even feeling like you were painted as a villain in this story.

Yeah, I mean, you know, I was one of the names that nobody expected out of the Olympics.

You know, NBC on the day of the games, you know, my family was completely spread apart around the stadium.

They did not expect things from me.

And I watched as sort of my story from 2022 happened.

And it was like deja vu, but it was somebody else.

And that was Lindsey Vonn.

Honestly, who are we to fight the alchemy? Were you surprised? Were you expecting

Like, what does that mean in terms of sponsorships? Do all of a sudden, is the phone ringing like crazy? Give us an idea of how that changes things.

Yeah, it definitely changes things, although it's slow, right? So as athletes, I would say most of our income comes from four main revenue sources.

For Alpine athletes, you have your helmet sponsor, your kind of title sponsor.

We're lucky enough to work with Stiefel on the US ski team.

And They work with me personally.

They're a great company and they're super invested in skiing and also expanding our appearance globally, which is super important for sponsorships.

Then you have your sort of NIL deals, your Instagram deals, things like that.

You started doing this when you were how old? And what you see in your trajectory of how kind of the acceptance of women in sports, the success of women in sports.

Wow

the in between, um, was, was really crazy.

So then like after that was done, we had a little bit of a break.

Um, my fiance and I went down to Milan.

We got to do some spectating, which I, in my- I went to my first games in Pyeongchang, and we watched like one hockey game like the day before closing ceremonies.

And, um, it was, it was really cool, but we just...

Mm.

How did you feel in that moment?

Doing it is v- like, it's real- like, skiing is a really cool sport, because you're doing a lot of mental physics at 80 miles an hour, so it's very physical and very mental.

You're trying to figure out the right line.

You're trying to figure out how to ski it.

You're trying to time everything correctly, but you're also resisting up to four Gs of force, um, and trying to avoid the nets, which are [laughs] very hard and not fun to hit.

[laughs] Um, so yeah, w- uh, you know, doing it, it's a very...

I call it, like, the feeling of being alive.

Okay, now the last question for you, Breezy, and I love to talk to female athletes about this, um, how can we get more girls into skiing?

Like that's how easy it is to potent like life happens and like, That's how diligent we need to be with updating our whereabouts and making sure our calendars are up to date with our exact location, really 24-7, as long as we're competing.

Yes.

There's a couple pieces there.

For one, if you get caught for a doping violation, you get to explain your rationale to WADA and USADA.

And basically, with whereabouts filing failures, there's like a minimum sentence.

So think like, like, you know, with with doping failures, like they can give you they can say they can give you anything from zero amount of time all the way to like, eight years or a lifetime ban in theory, right? Like, but they, they like, you get to explain what happened and all that sort of stuff.

With a filing failure, as soon as they say that, as soon as they determined that you were even 1% negligent, that you So for me, like I've been super open about this.

Am I getting that right? Yeah.
