How can we, or what are some easy practices we can do to prevent ourselves from, like you say, becoming a slave to the thoughts that we're entertaining, which a lot of times can be negative, which then of course leads to how we behave and how we show up in the world.
5:21
First, we want to recognize that all of our thoughts, for the most part, are probably not coming from that deepest truth of ourself.
5:31
And this is very hard to sort of put our minds around, right? We have been so patterned and so conditioned from the time we were in utero, you know, our cells picking up whatever emotions that our mother was going through, her stresses, her fears, her anxieties.
5:49
And then we go through life.
5:50
We feel we're so absorbent.
5:52
We're so intuitive.
5:53
We're so sensitive.

41 MINS LATER

46:54
So how did you and how can others kind of make that transformation where, you know, life is not just about money, but it's about some of those deeper things that we also need to explore and experience?
6:21
You know, like I'm also curious, why now? Why are you getting on podcasts and telling your story now?
6:28
So probably for the same reason.
6:32
reason that I would tell the people that I work with, just be more of you, whatever that is.
6:39
Like, what is that? Is it more showing up and laughing and being funny? Is it is it more painting is it more singing is it more gardening is it more hard work and building stuff is it more volunteer like whatever that thing is that's not work that doesn't feel like you have to try to do something it's just another way of you expressing yourself and I mean And talking in front of groups is something that is just natural to me and wasn't always, by the way.
7:16
It was something that I really...
7:17
I was extremely shy as a child.
7:18
I think this is why I liked film.

9 MINS LATER

16:03
Can you talk to me a bit about that?
2:00
Well, I'd love to dive in and hear, how did you get on this path, starting to understand energy and emotions and really doing this deep inner healing work? How did that start for you? Okay,
2:14
so I was hyper aware of energy when I was six, seven years old.
2:20
in a way that it came on so strongly from feeling so good, like just being a toddler, being a kid, doing my life, and then suddenly having this recognition that I'm here in human form and started putting meaning to that.
2:36
And that did not come in pleasantly.
2:38
That was through panic attacks and nervous system breakdowns.
2:41
So imagine being six or seven years old, screaming away, trying to explain and put words to something that I couldn't put words to.
2:52
My parents, you know, bless them, were doing the best they could.

17 MINS LATER

19:44
Can you share more what your sessions are like, how you work with people? Yes.
14:35
How was alcohol a role in your life and how do you see it in the distractionary removal from what's real aspect in current culture?
14:49
So the short answer is if you're drinking excessively and blacking out, you're going to go to sleep without having thoughts and dealing with the universes, whatever these things are that I was experiencing, the anxiety, the depression, the loneliness.
15:07
Right.
15:07
So it was just a huge avoidance like any other other thing.
15:11
But because it's so visceral, you're like you physically you're like, oh, I'm going to sleep now.
15:18
So that worked.
15:20
And so that was really my teens in through my early 20s.

7 MINS LATER

22:08
Take it away.
13:00
Are there any myths or misunderstandings about regulation that you wish would just go away forever? Yeah.
13:07
Well, I mean, you just gave a great example.
13:09
So I think I've almost wiped nervous system off my website.
13:12
I was absolutely a fault for using that too.
13:14
But here's the thing.
13:16
We give the words to it, right? Like there wasn't this thing that said, hey, all of these nerves and everything and the vagus nerve together and that is your nervous system.
13:26
It's the same as saying we have a digestive system.
15:20
Why does pushing feelings down tend to keep us on or not on track, but tend to keep us stuck? You know, what what what does it actually mean to integrate an emotion instead?
