So we've got about a month left before the RBA changes come in.

We saw I think ANZ was the first to start cutting drastically.

Since then, we have seen other banks follow.

but there are still a few decent offers above 100k in the market.

Yes, so, um, what, what's the details? What, what are we looking at today?

Mm-hmm.

So today, we're looking at the brand-new seats that ANA are gonna put into their three brand-new upcoming Boeing 787-9s, and we expect to see these seats retrofitted to 16 of ANA's current Boeing 787-9s.

They have 44 in their fleet, so not all of them will be getting the new seats, but the ones that do the longest international routes will over the next few years.

This is their main international fleet, so they have the A380, the Boeing 777, and the Boeing 787, but the ones that we see most often, especially to Australia, is the 787.

Mm.

Um, it's a 33 to 34-inch pitch, and on one of the previous flights I did from Tokyo to Perth, uh, a year ago, a year and a half ago now, um, I was commenting about how spacious it was.

Um, so what they've done is for the newer model they've maintained the 33 to 34-inch seat pitch, but they've actually carved out an extra inch of space, um, from kind of the seat back in front.

Mm-hmm.

For everyone else, I feel like it's not quite the target demographic, so probably no.

Uh, and the good news is, from what we've heard, that, is that all the existing flights will remain, so the Perth to London, the one-stop via Singapore, um, that should all be the same.

So for, I guess, the price-conscious crowd-

Definitely for the 30% right at the back, it's n- not gonna be the best experience, I don't think.

I think one point of difference would be the soft touches that they do for these meals.

Uh, Cathay Asia Miles being the program for the home carrier in Hong Kong.

It offers really good... or it offers better availability than most other airlines because Cathay Pacific releases more seats for its own members.

So as an example for that, my, um, when we were in Tokyo last week, um, I decided to extend the trip into a bit of a mini holiday, and I flew my wife over before the long weekend.

Um, and the only way we could find seats in any cabin class was through Cathay.

So luckily, we had a few, we had some Cathay miles to use.

Um, so, um, we used, it was 20 something thousand miles in economy from Perth to Tokyo via Hong Kong, which was pretty good.
