right we got another bonus show for you we're gonna let you hear from as many of ohio state's team captains as we can over the next few days because there's a lot to go through seven captains this year we got to talk to all of them in the middle of the week and there is a lot a lot of good stuff some of the best stuff was with brandon innis he is not necessarily the guy who is the biggest star among the seven captains but he is probably one of the most respected among those seven captains one of the reasons that he was awarded the block o jersey that is uh and and i think was a pretty easy choice for the blocko jersey this year tony gerderman and i did a show before they announced it and we're trying to figure out okay who's he going to be and we kind of kept coming back to yeah it feels like it's probably going to be brandon innes it feels like that is the most logical decision that they could make and that is the decision that they made so all right he got the blocko jersey what does that mean and was it maybe a little difficult to give up the number one jersey that he had before?
1:58
Yeah, I wore number one for a lot of my football career.
2:02
It felt like me, so when I first thought about it, I was kind of iffy on it, if I'm being honest.
2:08
And then I thought about it more as we got closer, and then I kind of knew... who was between, so then I'm like, okay, I probably got a pretty good chance of getting it.
2:16
And then when I got it, it was like, I just kept hearing a voice in the back of my head, it was Coach Day, saying we have core values on our team, and one of them is unselfishness.
2:25
And for me to carry this, it's an honor, of course, like all the great people who have worked before, leaders, tremendous leaders, but to be unselfish, to give the number that it means so much to me, number one, and to come in this number zero, the block O, and just Have that honor is something I wanted to do, not only for me, but for Buckeye Nation and for my teammates who all wanted me to have this number and for my coaches as well.
3:56
This sounds like this is something that really meant a lot to Jeremiah.
3:59
Yeah, so I was thinking about it the day we voted, and JJ sits next to me in the team room, and I'm not going to get into how the voting works and stuff, but I was just thinking about who I'm going to vote for, and I'm like... okay, there's a pretty good chance he's going to win this.

101:34
How did you manage that as one of the leaders?
101:36
Yeah, um, at fir- it, it was definitely different.
101:38
So as like a, a leader in the captaincy it was a kind of a challenge.
101:41
You know, we never had this before, so, um, got here and the first thing you do is embrace the guys you bring in the room, no matter what, who they are, what background they come from, because at the end of the day we all a family and, uh, we're all a brotherhood.
101:51
And we came, they, uh, KP and Devin came in from transfer portal, and then all the freshmen came in and we just wrapped our arms around them.
101:57
The older guys wrapped our arms around them, opened them, um, with open arms, you know.
102:02
And then after that it was like we know the standard of this room.
103:59
Yeah.
