So I'll let you take either part of that first.
1:55
Yeah, I think first, in terms of the eligibility lawsuits, I think, unfortunately, because athletes don't necessarily have as large of a platform as the schools, as the conferences, as the NCAA, Unfortunately, a lot of times in the news and airways, one side of the story gets told or one side gets overshared, so to speak.
2:19
And a lot of times the athletes end up becoming the ones who are demonized for not being loyal or being soft or money hungry and all of those types of things.
2:29
And ultimately, most athletes are doing what every single other American citizen would do.
2:34
I have an opportunity to go earn life changing money or even a dollar.
2:39
It doesn't have to be life changing money, a dollar to play a sport that I grew up playing my whole life.
2:45
And I get to do it in front of an incredible crowd.

22:46
And how do you rate your chance of success? And let me put it more broadly, not just athletes.org, but chance of success of college athletes and, being recognized as employees, and then having the right to unionize and engage in collective bargaining, given where we are with the Protect College Sports Act or where we're not with that and everything else going on, how optimistic are you feeling?

12:45
You've really impressed myself, the GM, the head coach.
12:49
You're going to be our starting linebacker.
12:52
Go out there tomorrow.
12:54
Get you a few reps.
12:55
Nothing too crazy.
14:49
I don't know if you heard the conversation.
17:15
Can you tell us in your career what you saw the major roles of analytics within your NFL career, whether it was in your own training, whether it was in on-field decisions, whether, you know, how did you see it being used?
17:30
Yeah, for game planning and preparation.
17:33
So every single week we come in and, different teams structured in different ways but on wednesday you know if we come in and i'm on the patriots or the jets or anybody you know we're typically because on wednesday we're on pat we're in pads we're typically going over first second down some of the rundowns and short yardage we do later in the week but we're starting to talk about what their favorite runs are right um Ultimately, you're using those analytics and those statistics to start to figure out, hey, on second and short, there's some teams on second and short that 73% of the time they're going to try to take that as a chance to throw a deep ball or to take a shot.
18:12
There's some teams on second and short, San Francisco 49ers in certain years would say, hey, we're just going to go get the first down.
18:19
Patriots sometimes.
18:20
We're just going to go get the first down.
18:22
But ultimately, you're using those analytics to help you play faster.

What does success look like for you?
36:51
What does this executive order do? And where are we right now in the big money college sports?
36:59
Yeah, Brian, I think ultimately what the president is seeing is he's seeing that the route we're on in college athletics is just unsustainable.
37:06
He's seeing a lot of money flow into it fast, and he actually calls out in the executive order that it looks like it's a race to the bottom.
37:13
And so he issues this executive order and makes a bunch of statements, and it's very important to keep in mind that none of it is actual rules or bills or policy.
37:24
However...
37:26
What a lot of folks in college athletics are wondering is, does the president hold or withhold federal funding from schools who don't listen to the statements that he's making in this executive order and take action of banning third party NIL payments that are not brand sponsorships, which frankly has been a rule in the NCAA since 2021.
37:46
So, again, there are a lot of statements within here.
38:42
Yeah,
18:12
But now it's mine
18:12
mineThere you go.
18:14
Got that, absolutely.
18:15
So, so in, in your Money Playbook, our book, we, we talk about this, but the...
18:23
There are a lot of similarities between football and money management.
18:26
The commanders, before they go into a game, before they go into battle, they spend all week game planning.
18:32
They spend all week prepping.

5 MINS LATER

23:54
Congratulations
40:39
Can you shed some light on what was discussed and where this is all going?
40:42
Yeah.
40:42
So first and foremost, it was historic that Like you said, college football players would fly into Atlanta on, frankly, their first weekend back from school break, so to speak, to talk about the business of college sports.
40:55
They did that through athletes.org, their chosen players association, to understand, get educated first and foremost, but then also to organize and understand their thoughts on the different issues that college athletics leaders are making decisions on about them, without them.
41:10
So how long should transfer portal be? What happens if you get hurt in the middle of the season and you have this NIL contract, but now because you can't play, the school takes away your NIL contract, right? There's a number of things that are going on in college athletics right now that the average fan sees and thinks that college athletes are finally making money.
41:34
However, it's not all going through as planned.
41:38
It's not as clean and organized as the pro level.
45:42
Is there something wrong with that dynamic? Does it need to be fixed? Or is it purely the free markets at work?
