So, yeah, go ahead and let's dive into that aspect.
35:19
You know, I could talk about WWA for the next three hours, but I'll try to keep it quick on you.
35:25
You know – The way I see it is WWA roughly represents the 63,000 waterfowl hunters here in the state of Wisconsin.
35:39
And the organization, as I see it, is really built on three different pillars.
35:44
First is going to be our wetland restoration work that we do.
35:48
I just saw a statistic that came out from the wetland.
35:54
the Wetland Study Council here in the state of Wisconsin and looking at the wetlands dashboard from the DNR, our organization, little organization, Wisconsin Waterfowl Association, was responsible for 87% of the wetland restoration work done here in the state in 23, 24, and 25.
41:04
And I feel like there's multiple other states where there should be a sandhill crane season as well, but there seems to be some amount of public pushback any time you try to add something to a huntable list of wild game.
3:42
... what it means, what it represents, um, and, and just the importance of all the work that, that you and your team do.
3:49
Yeah, absolutely.
3:50
Um, you know, and, and that's easy for me to do because it's, it's something I'm really proud of.
3:54
You know, we're a, uh, we're a small organization.
3:57
We have six people within the organization, six of us.
4:01
And three and a half of those, uh, w- we'll call them half 'cause he's semi-retired.
4:07
Uh, and actually, yeah, three and a half.

12 MINS LATER

15:47
Mm-hmm
21:24
Yeah.
21:25
And so we're advocating for the Wisconsin Waterfall Hunter here in the state.
21:29
I spent more time at the state capitol in – You know, you look at politics from the outside and you think, boy, it's messed up.
21:40
Get a little deeper into it and you're like, holy cow, this is really some messed up stuff.
21:47
But, you know, so we're there.
21:48
We're trying to advocate for waterfall hunters.
21:50
So we had two big pushes this year.

9 MINS LATER

31:15
How does that affect everything? Walk-in areas?
17:40
And I would love to encourage neighboring states to take a look at the programs that Wisconsin has, particularly with the Wisconsin Waterfowl Association, because it's really unbelievable what this... organization accomplishes year after year and one of the things that we're really excited about is the little yellow river project in up north up near Nesita Wisconsin yes tell me a little bit about that because we have in Wisconsin we've got one of the most healthy unbelievable sandhill crane populations here of course we'd love to have a hunting season But we have other species coming through the marsh and through, we're developing lands near Nesita, Wisconsin that actually have whooping cranes.
18:30
Yep, absolutely.
18:31
So right around Nesita, Wisconsin is the Nesita National Wildlife Refuge.
18:36
And it is the number one breeding area for our experimental animals.
18:43
Sandhill whooping crane population here in the state.
18:47
Wow.
18:48
And so what we are doing as an organization is we are restoring significant amount of habitat in that watershed.
19:51
That's just not the case, is it?
