How far have standards like, let's say Matter, Thread, KNX, IoT, and BACnet actually progressed in enabling truly interoperable buildings?
21:39
So I was, I was looking into Matter and Thread and, you know, uh, BACnet, this is building automation communication abbreviation.
21:47
Um, how far are they? Because I remember them from the past, and I heard many times that not everything is so pink [chuckles] as they would like to say.
21:56
But I was recently positively surprised about the Matter 1.6 version, which came out now, and I want to share this story with you because it illustrates that they are moving in the correct direction.
22:10
So in the past, if you had some, let's say, smart bulb, there was a QR code in the back, and you had to scan that QR code to pair that with your gateway, and that it would, uh, be able to work with the, let's say, manager of all the bulbs.
22:25
But now with the latest Matter, this is not needed anymore.
22:30
They added NFC commissioning, so means that there is much easier to commission devices to your home automation system, let's call it like that.

Let's look ahead from the immediate collaboration to, you know, what needs to happen over the next decade for homes and buildings to become a fully integrated part of the all electric society.
