And so you met your partners, Mr. Maynard Holt and Dan Pickering, but what was your value proposition to the market? What were you gonna do differently?

Bobby TudorGUEST
Well, you know, this was not the first firm to be an energy specialist, right? In, in fact, arguably the earliest energy specialist firm on Wall Street period was a Houston-based firm called Simmons & Company internationally.

Bobby TudorGUEST
Now, they were mostly focused on the oilfield services world, but they were specialists before there were specialists, and they built a really, really good brand, a good business, and showed that very, very deep sub-sector expertise could result in taking a lot of market share.

Bobby TudorGUEST
Later, Petrie, Parkman & Company, a Denver-based, more upstream-oriented specialist firm, also had very good success.

Bobby TudorGUEST
And Petrie, Parkman in particular sort of introduced engineering subspecialty into the investment banking world, and they ended up taking a, a, a, a lot of market share by, by doing that.

You're talking about carbon management, nuclear electrification, hydrogen, geothermal, I mean, all those kind of, uh, different technology that, that, that, that's coming.

Bobby TudorGUEST
I'm, I'm of the view that there's no silver bullet, that we're gonna have to make incremental progress across a whole range of, uh, of technologies, and you just listed several of them there.

Bobby TudorGUEST
I am a believer carbon capture and, and storage has a really important place in all this.

Bobby TudorGUEST
You know, we, uh, we continue to drive down the cost curve on the kit associated with carbon capture.

Bobby TudorGUEST
There are many, many places in the world where we can very effectively, uh, use it.

Bobby TudorGUEST
I think that plays an important part because we're gonna continue to need to burn gas, and coal for that matter, for, for quite a long period of time.

And, um, can you kind of tell your, your opinion of, of Houston and why, you know, you, you're passionate about making Houston kind of that, that kind of energy capital of the, of the world or of the, of the future, I mean, kind of, uh, in the, in this kind of energy transition, uh, path?
